Mentors
All of our Robotics teams are also supported by the alumni that were on our past teams
Matthew Lewis - Matthew was the main designer in the 2017-2018 season. He generated effective concepts for the construction of the bot and even learned to code under pressure when the teams programmer was unable to participate during the season. His passion with Robotics has lead him to the University of Texas. Since starting there, he has begun a robotics club and continues to return to his peers at the school when in town. He helps them understand components of robot construction they are working through as well as provide guidance and assistance in executing their plans.
Kailee Smith - Kailee was the head of the girls team in the 2017-2018 season. She became team “Mom” and helped to keep the team together. She learned quickly about the robots and how to build and make changes under pressure. She inspired many of our students to join and continues to work on improving their designs. She is currently attending Sam Houston State University and comes home to help our teams when in town.
